PNY launches Active HDMI® Cables
Ultra-thin cable range completes PNY’s imaging solutions

MÉRIGNAC, France – 6 February, 2012 – PNY, a global storage, upgrade and graphics solution manufacturer for both consumers and professionals, today introduced its new range of high-speed Active HDMI® Cables. These new cables ensure that PNY is the ideal partner for the multimedia aficionado, offering the possibility to connect smart phones, cameras and other technological devices to the latest HD TVs. These cables complete PNY’s already comprehensive range of imaging solutions.

The PNY Active HDMI® Cables are ultra-thin. Innovatively developed around an integrated circuit, the cables offer a transfer speed of 10.2 Gbps, regardless of the cable’s length. Ensuring this transfer rate allows the best image and sound quality. With a diameter of only 3.5mm, PNY’s Active HDMI® Cables are also 70% thinner than the standard passive cables currently on the market.

The cables will quickly become an essential accessory for sharing videos, photos, presentations and ebooks – or navigating the web – with any portable device linked to a projector, screen or TV equipped with an HDMI port. The flexible and lightweight cables are exceptionally portable, allowing users to benefit from HDMI connections wherever they are.

Pauline Monin, Product Manager for PC Components at PNY Europe, said: “In developing this new range of next-generation cables, we are offering our clients the best in HD connections. These ultra-thin, ultra-flexible cables will quickly become indispensable for nomad users: take a photo and share it immediately at the highest resolutions – that’s what people are looking for! That’s why we’re giving consumers this new range. People are sharing media everywhere: professionals and consumers alike, and our cables are quickly going to become the ‘must-have’ accessory in the HD imaging market.”

As PNY Active HDMI Cables are certified to meet HDMI 1.4 specifications, supporting 4K functionality. The cables also support stereoscopic 3D images, and mobiles with the latest mini HDMI and Micro HDMI ports.
